Rich McCafferty

Rich McCafferty has 30 years in the health and fitness industries.

A graduate from Lakeview High School’s class of 1982, he served in the U.S. Army as a dental assistant/hygienist until his honorable discharge in 1986.

While completing his BS in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in 1989, he began his fitness career working for Racquetball & Fitness then Bally’s Fitness Club.

Prior to and upon graduation from UTSA, he worked as a service manager and personal training coordinator for Bally’s in Dallas, TX from 1989 to 1991, and again for Bally’s in Tulsa, OK. It was here he realized his desire to provide fitness and training in a more personalized, private, one-on-one basis, finding he enjoyed the teaching aspect of personal training as well as the education and experience it requires.

BodyTech Personal Training opened in Tulsa, OK in 1992. It offered a studio setting to realize Rich’s vision of providing sound training and fitness principles with state of the art equipment in a highly personalized arena.

In an effort to continue his expertise in fitness, he became certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a personal trainer in 1993, and he won the award for the Outstanding Young Fitness Leader for the State of Oklahoma in 1998. He again became ACE certified as an Advanced Health and Fitness Specialist in 2000.

In 2004, Rich brought this concept back to his hometown of Cortland and contracted with a local health club to continue BodyTech Personal Training. He took his vision another step forward in 2006 by opening a private studio.

In 2010, Rich opened the BodyTech Life Extension Center, where he continues to provide the same high level of personal service and education that has made BodyTech such a success.
